Our Flooring Installation Process
As one of the best flooring installation companies in Centralia, WA, our team of installers has been working in residential flooring for more than a decade. From hardwood to carpet, our flooring installation process is tried and true, delivering a flat, durable floor for years to come.
Prep
The first step of any flooring project is to prep the space. Generally, we will want the flooring to acclimate in your room for 48 hours to adjust to the temperature and humidity. For the floor itself, we will want to check the subfloor to make sure that it is clean, dry and level, and we will need to remove and replace any sections that have water damage or are warped. We will also typically remove baseboards to give us access to the wall and room to add spacers where needed. Next, we will install a vapor barrier or foam underlayment, unless we are installing a flooring type that comes with it pre-attached like luxury vinyl plank.
Installing Floors
Next, our flooring installation process takes over. We will use expansion gaps to keep your floor and wall separate, allowing for natural expansion over time, and start laying the floor. For the majority of our flooring types, including hardwood, LVP and laminate, our installers prefer a staggered seam to create a better overall look during installation, and we will install each plank as the manufacturer suggests, whether by tongue-and-groove or another method.
Final Touches
Once we have laid the last row of flooring, we will tighten it against the wall with a pull bar to ensure the floor is snug. We will also reinstall the molding and baseboards to cover the expansion gap and add any transition strips or T-molding between rooms and secure them to the subfloor. Finally, we will do a full sweep and clean, leaving you a picture-perfect floor to enjoy for years to come.
Types of Flooring
Laminate
Laminate has long been one of the most popular flooring options, as it offers a durable, scratch-resistant, and budget-friendly solution. Today’s laminate is quite advanced and can mimic hardwood to give your home a great look, while also providing some protection from water, dogs and everyday life.
Luxury Vinyl Plank
Luxury vinyl plank, otherwise called LVP, is one of the best flooring options that you can invest in. With its high durability and waterproof structure, LVP is a dream to clean and perfect for busy households with pets and kids.
Carpet
Carpet is a cozy option for those who are looking for a more comfortable flooring solution. We work with some of the top carpet manufacturers to offer a wide range of options. With a variety of fibers, colors, and designs, you're sure to find a match to give your family rooms or bedrooms a soft, plush, and durable floor.
Hardwood
Hardwood is a mainstay in the flooring industry, and today’s engineered options offer the aesthetic of natural solid wood with improved stability against moisture and temperature fluctuations. We also carry a wide range of classic hardwood finishes to give you the natural look for your space.
